Are you stuck in a constant cycle of trying to makeover a room in your house but don’t know where to start, how to create a cohesive look, and more and just end up giving up? Well, this post [and eDesign] is for you.
Whether you live close to me in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, or all the way across the country, we can work together through eDesign to create a home you love. My whole philosophy and reason for starting this business in the first place was to make interior decorating and design affordable, approachable, and attainable.
Uhhh Sarah what even is eDesign?
eDesign is an online decorating service. Instead of hiring an interior decorator to come to your house, take measurements, hire tradesmen, order products for you, and install everything, we collaborate 100% online. It’s more of a DIY version of interior decorating. AND, much more affordable. Ultimately, we create a plan for your room that you’ll be able to implement yourself on your own timeframe.
What is the process like?
The initial phase is hearing all about you, your home, your life, style, and budget. You’ll fill out a questionnaire, send room photos, and share a floor plan with measurements.
From that point, your hard work is over. I take all the information you provided to me and come up with an initial design plan and floor plan that I’ll share with you. You’ll have the opportunity to share feedback and I’ll make any necessary revisions.
I will then provide you with your completed room including a 3D rendering (for full e-design projects), a visual mood board of all the items, and a completed shopping list. I also include applicable set up instructions as needed (like how to hang curtains, etc).
So what is the difference between large online interior design companies and me?
I’m sure you’ve seen a million and one eDesign companies out there. Big companies like Havenly or Laurel & Wolf.
The biggest difference is the restriction of products. When I’m sourcing products for your room makeover, I’m not limited to certain stores that I have a contract with. That means that my overall process if much more personalized and the results show in your design.
I also am not working with someone timing me to make sure your project is done in 2 hours or less (yes, that’s a thing that happens). I want to take the time to ensure I’m finding the best products for you. This is especially true with styling a space. I love picking out all the little details down to the artwork and yeah that takes more than 2 hours!
How do I know you’re the right designer for me?
Totally valid question, and another shortcoming of the larger interior design companies. Check out my portfolio, read my blog, see what I’m pinning on Pinterest, and hop over to Instagram. If what you’re seeing aligns with your vision, we’re probably a good fit!
