Get the Farmhouse Look, At Michaels!

I don’t know about you guys, but I am OBSESSED with the show Fixer Upper on HGTV.  I mean Chip and Joanna Gaines are so stinkin’ cute.  I’m also really into the farmhouse/rustic look which they absolutely perfect on the show.  Can’t they just come and redo my house??

You see a lot on Pinterest these days with crazzzzy DIY projects to get the farmhouse look.  Like building a farmhouse table, putting in a whole ship lap room.  I don’t know about you guys but I do not have the time for extensive projects.  They are GORGEOUS of course.  Just not for this busy mama.  Since I’m at Michaels {almost} everyday, I’ve been noticing many farmhouse style items that are SUPER CHEAP and can add immediate style to your home.

So, I put together a few of my favorite items from Michaels.  I’m pretty sure the cute little old lady cashier knows me at my local store, that’s really how much I’m there.  It’s scary.  Anyway, maybe you want the farmhouse/fixer upper look but don’t know where to look.  Maybe you’re like me and just don’t have the time to do extensive DIY projects because of work or kids or both!  Hopefully these items will help spruce up your space or inspire you to create your own farmhouse look.

And, did I mention most of these are less than $25!?  Plus, Michaels always has great coupons.  I signed up for their emails and get 20% off coupons all the time.  Check it out.

DIY your Fixer Upper or Farmhouse look on a budget from Michaels!

If you can’t make it to Michaels, you can get the farmhouse look by using any (or all!) of the following items: greenery (specifically moss balls or boxwood), galvanized metal (in the form of baskets or buckets), chalkboard signs and/or labels, wooden crates, cherry blossom stems (or any blossom stems – check Michaels!), apothecary jars or simple mason jars, and my personal favorite: rustic shelving!  I’m currently working on some beautiful shelving for my dining room.  Can’t wait to share it!

Another place to look for farmhouse items is in your own home, for FREE!  That old shutter you were going to toss, keep it!  Throw some chalk paint on it and it could be used as a focal point in your dining room.  Or that old vase collecting dust in the attic, keep it!  Grab fresh (or fake) flowers, wrap it with burlap or ribbon and use it as a centerpiece!  Plus, almost anything can be transformed with paint.  Look around your house and see if you can find anything!

Follow me on Pinterest  to see more ideas and DIYs!  I have a whole board set up just for Fixer Upper and Farmhouse looks!

I’m going to put together another Farmhouse / Fixer Upper inspiration board for Target/IKEA items as well!  Let me know if there’s another store anyone wants me to find items, too!
